[Mitsuhide is playing his shamisen as he makes the voice post; it's a simple, gentle tune, and his own voice is just as gentle to match.]

So we were saved by the hands of a man on a stringed instrument... I cannot call that odd. I have been saved several times by a man playing his instrument, though in a very different manner, of course. [He laughs quietly.] It is good that we know some kind of peace again.

[The pace of his playing quickens a little.]

We have been gifted with the the sky again too. The sight of the ocean surface. The feeling of the wind on our faces. This new island is odd, and there are many unsettling things about it, but right now I cannot know less than joy at it becoming available to us. It is amazing, that such simple things can lighten my heart so. I find myself wishing that-

[Mitsuhide fumbles his playing then; he pauses mid-sentence to sigh, and starts over.]

I thought I had that one mastered...

Ah, well...

[Mitsuhide flushes a little, clearly embarassed.]

Thank you; you are too kind. It is a little frustrating to mess this one up after the amount of times I have practised it. I had moved on to the next song Lord Motochika prepared for me... it seems I may need to take a few steps back in his lesson plans.

Not always.

[He sighs, shaking his head a little as he laughs at himself.]

I suppose with this I am eager to get good as soon as possible. It is... important to me.

Well, I'll keep cheering for you! I'm sure you'll get it down as long as it's important to you.

No need to be modest with this.

[Mitsuhide nods.]

You are most welcome.

Aww, c'mon. It was nothing, dude. All I did was play the thing--I wasn't really expecting it to fall asleep and climb off the barrier.

[Then a soft sigh. The wind really was nice.]

The scent of the real ocean, too. I swear, I acted just like a kid up there 'n ran around for hours. My legs are sore now, but man was it worth it.

That does not change the fact that it was you that saved our city, my friend.

[Mitsuhide bows his head briefy, smiling.]

It's wonderful, isn't it? I think I will be spending a lot of time up there in the future, regardless of that mist.

*Oh hey you seem cheerful today Mitsuhide. Grandpa is happy for you.*

I wasn't aware that you play an instrument Mitsuhide-san.

Ah, my Lord.

[He looks a little embarassed.]

I do not share my playing very often... I have a long way to go still.

I assume Motochika-san is giving you lessons? It's a beautiful instrument so I hope you'll be able to, one day.

*Japan tries to give him a supportive smile. He knows Mitsuhide doesn't have many things to keep him happy at times - perhaps music will soothe his soul.*

On occasion...

[He chuckles a little awkwardly.]

I follow a lesson plan he created for me. It's taking a lot of time, but... thank you. I hope so too.

Perhaps one day all three us can play together.

*Japan is a nation after all - and playing something so symbolic of his culture is very easy for him.*

You are too kind. Thank you.

Something of one, perhaps? My Lord Motochika fights using a shamisen; he uses it as a blunt weapon, but also manipulates sound and water with it. We have fought together many times in the past, and he has saved and assisted me many times.

[BEST WEAPON EVER.]

Hardy does not do justice to it. It is the finest of instruments, the quality of its sound not affected at all. In the hands of its master, it makes only beautiful music.

My name is Akechi Mitsuhide. It is an honour.

You most certainly will, even if only on the network. He is never without his shamisen.

Ah, interesting? Well, as you wish, then, Joshua. I would most certainly not treat you in any other way; we must all stick together here and help one another, after all.

It is often a problem, when the curses afflict us... or when certain things invade the city. That is what most recently happened.

You have no knowledge of them? My apologies, I should not have assumed.

Vatheon occasionally puts us under a curse, though curse is not always the most perfect name. The ways they affect us are wide and varied, and completely unpredictable. Sometimes they are horrific, sometimes mild, sometimes positive... and sometimes just strange.

I do apologise, but most believe that these curses can take literally any form, so the things you mentioned could happen, for all we know. I will certainly share some examples, but none has ever happened twice since I came here. Anything can happen, and I mean anything.

We have been invaded by 'zombie mermaids,' had all rumours come true no matter how ridiculous, had our thoughts shared with everyone around us through a 'thought bubble,' been turned into the opposite gender, experienced rains of rubber ducks, been followed by dark shadows, been followed by the ghosts of those we have lost, swapped bodies with other residents, had our powers changed, been invaded by vicious ghosts... and more. I can go on, if you wish.
